An Airline audit is amongst others performed in case of
code sharing or wet-lease. Wet-lease is normally based on a
so-called ACMI agreement. The abbreviation stands for Aircraft,
Crew, Maintenance and Insurance. These matters are taken care of by
the lessor. All other matters have to be taken care of by the
lessee.
The lessee has the obligation to convince himself that the lessor
meets all legal requirements and must therefore perform an
audit.
EU-OPS is the legislation which is the basis for the
safe flight operation within the operating area of the European
Union, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. EU-OPS
contains the requirements for holders of an Air Operator
Certificate (AOC).

capacity shortages within your Quality Assurance department or to

EASA Part M contains the legislation for Continuing Airworthiness. Expressed in a simple manner are these the rules which prescribe how to keep an existing aircraft airworthy. EASA Part-M regulates the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation and its activities.

EASA Part-145 contains the legislation for maintenance companies. This legislation is closely related to Part-66 (certifying staff) and Part-147 (training organisation requirements).

An airline has to incorporate all aspects of the operation in its Quality Assurance Programme. This obligation is based of OPS 1.035(b). Approximately half of the flights is carried out from an outstation. It is obvious that also the performance of the usually contracted handling companies is verified by means of an audit.

knowledge of legislation, fluids, aerodynamics and winter
conditions.
