Part-145 audit

We specialise in audits at maintenance companies.

Part-145 audit

EASA Part-145 contains the legislation for maintenance companies. This legislation is closely related to Part-66 (certifying staff) and Part-147 (training organisation requirements). Aircraft maintenance is divided in line-, base- and component maintenance.

The EASA Part-145 audit contains subjects as organisation, safety and quality, facilities and production planning, certification and registration of maintenance activities.

Besides a review of the necessary paperwork, several departments within the company are visited during the EASA Part-145. This is not limited to departments directly involved in maintenance.  The incoming inspection, the storage facilities and the department responsible for maintenance and calibration of tools are examples of departments which are also examined. Each department gets specific attention. For example, at the storage facilities attention is given the separation of components and the obligatory quarantine facilities for unsalvageable components.

During the EASA Part-145 attention is paid to banning Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUPs). These so-called bogus-parts are parts, which are traded in the illegal circuit and do not meet the legal requirements. Bogey-parts are a potential threat to flight safety. Maintenance companies have the obligation to prevent that unsalvageable components end up in this circuit.

AviationAudits.nl has extensive experience with Part-145 and is accepted by Dutch and Icelandic authorities to perform Part-145 Form-4 Quality Management.

AviationAudits.nl has two separate checklists for line- and base maintenance. The base maintenance checklist is suitable for audits on maintenance of aircraft and components.
