Gert Janse

After his Technical College “aircraft operation”, Gert has been a Flight Engineer with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for 18 years. In this period he has operated the Boeing 747 “classic” and the DC-10, with as absolute highlight being based in Anchorage, Alaska for the 747 Freighter operation.

After 8526 flight hours a forced end came to this career by the phasing-out of the Flight Engineers corps.

There after Gert worked some time as Duty Manager Operations Control at KLM cityhopper, whereupon he changed to the Quality Assurance department and specialised himself in performing audits and de-icing/anti-icing.

In 2007 Gert founded AviationAudits.nl which proved to be a great success from the very first start. The success of AviationAudits.nl is based on hard work, a great degree of flexibility and cooperation with others.

As independent entrepreneur Gert makes his extensive  knowledge and experience available to companies, which have the need of a flexible use of the available expertise.

Gert has been accepted as Quality Manager by the Dutch CAA (OPS, Part-M and Part-145) and the Icelandic CAA (Part-145).

Presently Gert is in training to become a commercial hot air balloon pilot at Rob Wiegers Ballonvaart.
